Know the signs
Arthritis is fairly common in dogs and cats and sometimes the signs are obvious. But arthritis can often be misinterpreted as pets “slowing down” due to old age. Our pets can’t always tell us why they don’t want to play anymore, or why they’re just not their usual selves. Cats do especially well to hide their pain and discomfort. It helps to know the signs to look out for:

Stiffness
or limping

Difficulties jumping
or rising

Lags behind
or tires easily

Grooms with
difficulty

Loss
of playfulness

Moves less
